another vs other 做限定詞使用

another 和 other 可以當作限定詞使用，即放在名詞之前。

another 要加單數名詞。

He needs another cup of tea. 他需要再一杯茶。

other 要加複數名詞

I want to talk to other classmates. 我想與其他同學說話。

要注意限定詞沒有複數形式。

I need other documents. 我需要其他文件。 (不能說 others documents)

another 可以當作代名詞使用，即後面不用加上名詞。

I’ve already had one cup of tea, but I’ll have another. 我已經喝了一杯茶，但我要再喝一杯。

others 只有代名詞的形式，即後面不能加上名詞。

I don’t want to wear these clothes. Aren’t there any others (=other clothes)? 我不想穿這些衣服，有別件嗎?

the other 加單數名詞，表示 “這兩件事或兩個人的第二個，或是這兩組的另一個”。

This box is red. The other box is blue. 這個箱子是紅色的，另一個箱子是藍色的。 (除了說 the other box，也可以說 the other one。)

the other 加複數名詞，代表一群或一組中剩下來的人或事物。

The sofa and the TV are here, but what about the other furniture? 沙發和電視都到了，但其他的傢俱呢?
