and 的用法

用 and 來加入相似的信息或想法，代表 ‘too’ 或 ‘in addition’。

My father is a doctor, and my mother is a nurse. 我的父親是一名醫生，我的母親是一名護士。
She has a mall in the city and a new store in the countryside. 她在城裡開了一家商場，在鄉村裡開了一家新店。

當在連接句子時，不需要重複主詞(Mike, I, we, she, 等。)

She woke up and fixed the bed. (= She woke up and she fixed the bed.) 她醒了，整理好床。
She was talking to me and laughing. (=She was talking to me and she was laughing.) 她一邊跟我說話，一邊大笑。

but 的用法

 我們用 but 來加入對比的信息，即不同的信息。

I worked hard, but I couldn’t buy a phone. 我努力工作，但我買不到手機。
She is beautiful but not the best. 她很漂亮，但不是最漂亮的。

or 的用法

 用 or 來連接不同的可能性。

Would you like to go to the swimming pool or to the beach? 你想去游泳池還是去海灘？
He can go to a hotel or stay with us. 他可以去旅館，也可以和我們住在一起。

在否定句中，用 or 而不是 and 來表示兩者皆非。

我不喜歡蘋果或香蕉。
I don’t like apples and bananas. (X)
I don’t like apples or bananas.  (√)

用 and， but 和 or 來連接相似的詞或句子

用 and­，but 或 or 連接的項要為一樣的文法形式。 查看常見的錯誤:

我喜歡跑步和游泳。
I like running and swim.  (X)
I like running and swimming. (√)( 動詞-ing 和 動詞-ing)

你想去海灘還是在公園裏吃霜淇淋？
Would you like to go to the beach or having an ice cream in the park? (X)
Would you like to go to the beach or to have an ice cream in the park? (√)(to + 不定詞 和 to + 不定詞)

so 的用法

用 so 來引出某件事的結果。句子的第二部分是第一部分的結果。

It was hot, so I turned on the aircon.  天氣很熱，所以我打開了空調。
I spent all my money on shopping, so I don’t have any money now. 我把所有的錢都花在了購物上，所以我現在沒有錢了。

because 的用法

用 because 來引出某件事的原因。

I turned on the aircon because it was hot. 我打開了空調，因為很熱。
I’m entering the house quietly because I don’t want to wake up my mom. 我悄悄地進屋，因為我不想吵醒我媽媽。
