如何用英文表達 “幾分之幾”

我們可以用小數(decimals)或分數(fractions)來描述小於1的數位。 日常生活中，我們多使用小數，但知道如何用英語讀和說“分數”(幾分之幾)仍然很有用。

如何用英文說 “1/3, 2/3”？

首先我們要知道：分子用基數詞，分母用序數詞。

基數詞 – one, two, five, ten…

序數詞 – first, second, third, fourth…

1/3 就是 one third。 這裡 one 也可以用 a 代替，即 a third。

如果分子大於一，分母要+s

2/3 就是 two thirds. （可以理解成 2 個 one third, 所以後面+s）

有幾個例外：

• 1/2：表達為 one half 或 a half.
• 1/4:  除了說 one fourth/a fourth, 也可以說 one quarter/a quarter.
• 5¾: 五又三分之二，這類我們要在整數和分數之間用 and。 即 five and two thirds.
