當我們想更禮貌時，我們通常使用間接問句。我們會用Can you tell me …? Could you tell me …? Do you know …? Would you mind telling me … ? 開頭。
Where are we? (直接問句) 我們在哪？
Could you tell me where we are now? (間接問句) 你能告訴我我們現在在哪裡嗎？
間接問句的順序是主詞 + 動詞。
Do you know where I can find the supermarket? (不能說 where can I find) 你知道我在哪裡可以找到超市嗎？
Would you mind telling me what time the shops close? (不能說 what time do the shops close) 你介意告訴我商店幾點關門嗎？
還有其他表達式遵循相同的規則：
I don’t know where she’s going this late. 我不知道她這麼晚了要去哪裡。
I wonder when they will arrive at the airport. 我想知道他們什麼時候到達機場。
I’m not sure when I can go shopping. 我不確定什麼時候可以去購物。
I’d like to know how much you earn. 我想知道你賺了多少。
對於 yes-no 問句（沒有疑問詞時），我們可以使用 if 或 whether。
Do you know if/whether the supermarket will close? 你知道超市是否會關門嗎？
