Elementary school：國小
在美國，國小成為 elementary school. 在英國，澳大利亞和加拿大等其他國家，國小通常稱為“primary school”。

在整個中學教育階段，分為國中和高中，英文中是通過 junior 和 senior 區分。在一些國家把整個中學階段也稱為middle school 或是 secondary school。
