形容词的比较级

比较两个人或两件事时，常会卡在要用 more…than 还是形容词 + -er + than，以及拼字怎么变化。本篇整理形容词比较级的规则（含不规则变化）、less…than、than me/him 的用法，并补充 much / a bit + 比较级的加强语气。

形容词比较级的基本用法

我们用 “more + 形容词 + than” 或 “形容词 + -er + than” 来比较事情或人。

My sister is more polite than your sister. 我姐姐比你姐姐更有礼貌。
My new car toy is faster than your toy. 我的新汽车玩具比你的玩具快。

比较级的拼字规则

在这个图表中你可以看到什么时候要用 more…than 或 -er than 和 拼法的改变。

单音节 + er	old -> older cheap -> cheaper high -> higher
单音节字尾是 辅音+短元音+辅音， 重复字尾加 er。	hot -> hotter big -> bigger thin -> thinner
单音节字尾是 e，直接加 r。	nice -> nicer
双音节字尾是 y，去 y 加 ier。	healthy -> healthier happy -> happier noisy -> noisier
双音节或多音节，前面加 more。	famous -> more famous generous -> more generous
不规则形容词	good -> better bad -> worse far -> further

比较级的常见用法

比较两件事

我们用形容词的比较级来比较两件事。

Jess’s room is bigger than Josh’s room. 杰斯的房间比乔什的房间大。
My brother is more intelligent than me. 我哥哥比我聪明。

less…than 的用法

当我们在比较两件事时，也可以用 less + 形容词 + than (less ≠ more)

Julia’s phone is less expensive than Mary’s phone. (= Mary’s phone is more expensive than Julia’s.) 茱莉亚的手机比玛丽的手机便宜。 （玛丽的手机比茱莉亚的贵）

than me 的用法

如果在 than 后面要加上人称代词则要用宾语代词。

My sister is taller than me. 我姐姐比我高。
His sister is more intelligent than him. 他姐姐比他聪明。

much/a bit + more 的用法

在比较级 (more 或 -er) 前面可以用 much (= 很大的不同) 或 a bit (= 些微的不同)。

She’s a bit nicer than her sister. 她比她姐姐好一点。
Street vendors are much cheaper than mall vendors. 街头小贩比商场小贩便宜得多。

常见错误!

more or -er  more 或 -er的用法 

可以用 more 或 -er，但是不能用more + -er。

My brother is taller than me. (不能说 My brother is more taller than me.)

more than (非 that)

在比较级形容词后面要用 than 而非 that。

My brother is taller than me. (不能说 My brother is taller that me.)

than + 比较的第二个元素

我们用 than + 在比较的第二件事，若没有提及到比较的第二个元素，则不能使用 than。

My brother is taller than me.
I am tall, but my brother is taller. (不能说 my brother is taller than. )
