英文中的限定性关系从句

我们使用限定性关系从句来指定我们正在谈论的人、事物或地点。

who, which, where 

Who 指定人。

She met the doctor who saved her life. 她遇到了救了她的医生。她遇到了救了她的医生

Which 指定事物和动物。

The pen which I bought yesterday is already missing. 我昨天买的钢笔已经不见了。

Where 指定地点。

 That is the seaside resort where she spent her birthday last year. 那是她去年过生日的海滨度假胜地。

我们可以使用 that 来代替who或which 。但我们经常用 who 指人，用 which / that 指定事物。

She is the actor who/that got into an accident last week. 她就是上周发生事故的那个演员。
That is the car which/that my father bought last month. 那就是我父亲上个月买的汽车。

小心注意以下常见错误!

在这种类型的限定性关系从句中，我们不能使用 * what 或 * that he/she etc 来取代 that/who 。

That’s the teacher that/who I told you about. 那就是我告诉你的那位老师。 (不能说 the teacher what I told you about)
That’s the woman that/who tried to help me. 就是那个试图帮助我的女人。  (不能说 the woman that she tried to help me )
